New Cars Today

 What you’re paying for in a car; 

 I attended an auto show last year, and as I was admiring one car, a man was standing next to me. He started complaining to a woman who was with him, as he grab the front of the car. He said “Look at this! It’s all plastic in the front, it’s not metal. They want to charge all that money for that? That’s so cheap!

Although I could understand how the man felt, I know that automobiles today are not made the way they were years before. They are made of materials that are much lighter, along with the steel that’s used today, that is much lighter, to save on fuel economy. But at the same time, with the help of computers, and different design techniques, the cars today are even safer than they were in the earlier years. With all the advancements in technology, automobiles today are loaded with all types of computers, sensors, relays, and circuitry, that make them more reliable, efficient, and operable for the drivers. Features such as steering, braking, accelerating, have been advanced. Supplemental restraint systems (seat belts, air bags), backup sensors, rear backup cameras, GPS systems, are all part of the new technology today in automobiles.

So I think it would make sense to say that with today’s cars, it’s not the amount of material it takes to produce it that cost so much…………… your paying for today’s technology.
